Our journey to Chicago for the Specialty Coffee Expo was full of meaningful conversations and interactions, a lot of amazing coffee and tea, and memories we'll carry with us for years to come. We had the privilege of reconnecting with old friends, meeting loads of new ones, and spending quality time with our partners and supporters.
What is the SCA Expo?
The Specialty Coffee Expo has everything for everyone in the coffee world. Roasters and retailers can attend and have the opportunity to exhibit their products on the show floor, network with the industry's decision makers, and further their professional careers by participating in the SCA's numerous lectures, and hands-on learning opportunities.
Food and Beverage professionals can view the industry's most innovative and cutting edge coffee products, learn about integrating specialty coffee into their existing business plan, and easily make purchasing decisions face to face on the show floor.
Coffee Enthusiasts of all professional backgrounds can participate in or watch the coffee competitions, mingle with like-minded attendees at receptions and lunches, or learn more about the art of cupping, brewing or roasting in our educational programs.
The Highlights
At this year's expo, we decided to brew coffees from partnerships that mean a lot to us. We brewed a really special sun-dried Java variety from our friends at Cofinet. We've been buying coffees from Cofinet for a couple years now and you'll be most familiar with their contribution to our espresso blend, Ultraviolet.
We also got to share a couple of coffees from our good friends at Sundog. Emmanuel, the Rwandan man responsible for these coffees, graced everyone with his presence at Expo and we hosted a small, informal meet and greet with him at our booth while we were brewing a coffee from Janja Hill. It was remarkable to facilitate an opportunity for people to meet the folks responsible for the coffees we were sharing with them.
We also got to spend some time at MiiR's booth brewing some coffees and showing off their new Standard Carafe. It was a special moment for us as we got to share our mission and coffees with some folks that have never interacted with Night Swim before. We also spent time at La Marzocco's, Eversys, and Nuova Simonelli's booth sharing some of our year-round blends and talking coffee!
Overall, we look forward to our time at Expo every year. It's an incredible opportunity to put the Night Swim brand in front of thousands of new folks, give out hundreds of coffee samples, and share our passion with others who carry similar passion with them.
